Got my first round of feedback from my testers. Made some huge changes to the costs of upgrades so they scale better in the early game. This is my first time attempting a roguelike game, and getting the progression right is very tricky.

Essentially, my original build had all level 1 upgrades cost 500xp, level 2  cost 1500xp, and level 3 cost 4500xp.  But it was taking an excessively long time for the game testers to get enough upgrades that they could make any real progress.  So I changed the system to scale more smoothly.  It works on a duel cost system.  The base cost starts at 50xp and increase by 25 each upgrade purchased.  But an additional cost is added per additional level of upgrade (the base cost plus 1000 at level 2, and 2000 at level 3).  This works out to very similar total xp costs to upgrade all your skills to max, but the early game upgrades are much more accessible, allowing for easier early progression.
